Inside Alina Habba & Turhan Mildon’s Waldorf Astoria Wedding, Planned by YSD Events
Daily Mail takes readers inside the extraordinary design, fashion and unforgettable experiences of Alina Habba and Turhan Mildon’s New York wedding at the Waldorf Astoria.
From three couture-inspired bridal looks to nearly 900,000 fresh flowers, Alina Habba and Turhan Mildon’s wedding at the Waldorf Astoria New York was conceived as a series of extraordinary experiences—each with its own atmosphere, design language and sense of discovery.
In its latest coverage, the Daily Mail takes readers inside the celebration and the details that brought the weekend to life, including the work of YSD Events as the couple’s exclusive planning team.
For YSD Events, the vision extended far beyond creating one beautiful ballroom. The wedding unfolded through a progression of distinct environments, transforming the Waldorf Astoria’s fourth floor into an immersive journey from ceremony to cocktails, dinner and late-night celebration.
Three Distinct Worlds, One Unforgettable Celebration
The wedding began in the Waldorf Astoria’s Jade Room, where Alina Habba and Turhan Mildon exchanged vows surrounded by an ethereal palette of blush and white.
White cherry blossoms lined a mirrored aisle and extended overhead beneath soaring ceilings and a chandelier, creating an intimate yet dramatic setting for the ceremony.
From there, guests moved through the historic Silver Corridor, transformed with deep red roses, floral arches and candlelight. The visual language shifted again as the evening progressed, transitioning from the softness of the ceremony into richer shades of gold, black and crimson for dinner.
The celebration ultimately culminated in the Grand Ballroom, where a monumental red rose installation, cascading crystals and a custom black-and-white dance floor created the setting for the reception.
According to the Daily Mail, the celebration took over the hotel’s entire fourth floor and incorporated approximately 900,000 fresh flowers sourced locally and from around the world.
Planning Every Detail
Behind the visual transformation was an intensive planning and design process.
The Daily Mail reports that Habba and Mildon visited the Waldorf Astoria numerous times leading up to their wedding for tastings, menu curation and extensive floral and décor prototype meetings with their exclusive planning team, YSD Events.
These moments behind the scenes are where an extraordinary celebration begins.
For YSD Events, luxury event planning is about understanding how every individual element—from the architecture and floral design to culinary experiences, entertainment and guest movement—works together to create a cohesive story.
Couture, Caviar & Celebration
Fashion played its own role in the evolution of the evening.
The Daily Mail highlighted three different bridal looks worn by Habba throughout the celebration. She began the ceremony in a lace gown with a sweetheart neckline, transitioned into a statement sequined gown for the reception and later emerged for the afterparty in a short, glittering strapless design adorned with white flowers. The publication reported that the looks were designed by Christina Martinelli.
The culinary and entertainment experiences were equally considered.
Guests were welcomed with individual tins of caviar, while a 30-piece band brought energy to the reception. The couple shared their first dance to “Hier Encore,” originally recorded by Charles Aznavour, performed that evening by a singer flown in from France.
Dinner continued with Royal Ossetra caviar, followed by selections including lobster risotto or prime filet mignon, before classic ice cream sundaes completed the menu. A Dom Pérignon toast added another celebratory moment to the evening.
Welcome to Club Mildon
As the evening transitioned into its final chapter, the environment changed once again.
The afterparty—dubbed Club Mildon—was conceived as a seductive, darker environment incorporating leopard motifs and hand-woven tapestries inspired by artistry from Turhan Mildon’s heritage.
Then came another surprise.
Three-time Grammy Award winner Nelly took the stage for a late-night performance, introduced by Habba’s children, bringing the celebration to an unforgettable crescendo.
The Art of Creating an Experience
The Habba-Mildon wedding illustrates what defines the YSD Events approach to luxury weddings and destination celebrations.
It is not simply about creating a beautiful room.
It is about creating a journey.
From the ethereal ceremony and dramatic floral transitions to an opulent dinner and the energy of Club Mildon, each environment was designed to reveal something new while remaining part of one cohesive vision.
Nearly 900,000 flowers. Multiple environments. Couture fashion. Exceptional dining. Live music. A surprise performance. And countless details working together behind the scenes.
The result was an experience designed not simply to impress in the moment, but to be remembered long after the final song.
